Solid Perfumes have been enjoyed for centuries, traditionally crafted using waxes and oils to create a portable, skin-loving fragrance experience. Our formula follows this time-honoured approach while introducing a modern twist inspired by a beautiful solid perfume I was gifted from Greece many years ago.
Traditionally, beeswax has been the most common base for solid perfumes, however I personally never enjoyed the feel it left on my skin. Instead, this formula uses a carefully balanced combination of Candelilla Wax and Berry Wax (Rhus Verniciflua Peel Wax), creating a firm yet silky balm that melts effortlessly on contact with the skin and glides on with ease. An added benefit of this approach is that the formula is completely vegan friendly, something still relatively uncommon in the world of solid perfumes.
This recipe incorporates fragrance oil at 10%, so it may not be suitable for all essential oil blends. Access to Category 4 IFRA usage rates for your chosen fragrance oils is recommended. Additional guidance is included within the formula, including suggestions for adjusting the fragrance load if this percentage cannot be achieved.
