Foaming Bath Whip, also referred to as Whipped Soap, is such a great base product to have on hand as there are so many products you can make with it. I like to make a big batch of it and keep it as a base so I can quickly top up shelves or make last minute products for special occasions.
I have been making my own base for years from a recipe I purchased but for the last couple of years, I have been working on my own formula to address a few issues. My main issue was I wanted my base to have ingredients that were deemed natural which meant finding an alternative to the popular Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate. I began experimenting with Sodium Coco Sulfate which is natural and biodegradable. Two of the other ingredients used are classified as synthetics due to their processing, but are derived from natural sources and have been classified as okay for natural use. Before purchasing, consdier what your definition of natural is.
When this base is first made, it does look quite soft, however, once whipped it holds beautiful stiff peaks while still being scoopable. Once oils, clays and fragrances are added, the bases does thicken more.
There are two product ideas as the end of the formula to get you started.
